The Jeannette García for State Assembly campaign is looking for motivated high school and college students who want hands-on experience in politics, organizing, and community leadership.

This campaign is powered by neighbors who believe Yonkers deserves strong, accountable leadership. As an intern, you’ll work alongside campaign staff and volunteers to connect with voters, organize community outreach, and help grow a grassroots movement across the district.

Whether you are interested in government, communications, organizing, or public service, this internship offers a chance to learn how a real campaign operates from the inside.

What You’ll Do

Interns will gain practical experience in key areas of the campaign, including:

Field Organizing

  • Canvassing and voter outreach

  • Community engagement

  • Volunteer recruitment

Communications & Digital

  • Social media content

  • Campaign messaging

  • Graphic and video support

Campaign Operations

  • Event planning and logistics

  • Data entry and voter file management

  • Office support and campaign coordination

Public Policy & Advocacy

  • Researching local issues

  • Assisting with policy briefings

  • Learning how legislation affects communities

Internship Details

Location: Yonkers, New York
Schedule: Flexible hours available
Start Date: Rolling opportunities throughout the campaign

Both part-time and volunteer internships are available.
